"Remembering Rizal" (Narrative)

“Oh really, we’re going to watch a play?” “What?! Three hundred pesos? Ohh…I don’t have any money left to pay for.” “What’s the title?” “Batang Rizal? Oohhh…sounds boring.” These are my reactions when our adviser announced about a play we need to watch. I am a person who likes to watch plays a lot. The lights, the actors, their voices, choreographs and acts amaze me. This play that we watched two months ago is not really appealing to me, when I first heard about it. It sounds boring so I often ignored it. But after watching the play, I regret saying those things because I’m wrong. It was not boring at all. I was impressed. This play, it was awesome!

Two months ago, in the month of January, exactly on the eighteenth of January of the year twenty-thirteen, we watched a play entitled “Batang Rizal” at the Assumpta theatre. The venue was a bit far from school so we rented Palos’ jeepney as well as Lasconia’s. On our way to the theatre, I, with my girl classmates, was so noisy. We were singing and laughing and talking nonstop. I didn’t want to go out of the jeep but I have to because we already reached the theatre. Before we go inside, we waited outside for so many hours. I was so pissed because it was hot then and I am so sleepy that time. My classmates were just playing with the leaves of the trees around us. Placing it on Andeng’s hair and opening the bean-like thing that I think the fruit of the tree. At last, our long wait was over. We got inside the theatre. I was surprised. It was so big and cold inside. And unfortunately, I didn’t bring any jacket. There are many pictures of nuns post on the wall that caught my attention. Their comfort room was also big and clean. No vandals on their walls or disgusting smell at all. The seats were fantastically arranged. When we put our eyes on the stage, I heard murmurs beside me talking about the props. I was also nervous because I have a seatmate on my left that I don’t know. After some reminders, the play began.

It all started in Rizal elementary school having its Buwan ng Wika celebration practice. Their teacher look confused on how could she arranged their formation for their dance number. There is also their mayor practicing his speech. I was so intimidate by him because he keeps speaking English even it’s a month of Filipino Language. I also laughed at the students because they were so naughty and noisy. They are fighting and most of them were bullying Pepito. Pepito was also a naughty boy and the root of all the craziness. He accidentally broke Rizal’s statue that their mayor gave. He should build another statue or else their school will be lost. And with this his journey starts. He found a book and went to an unknown place. Looks like he went to the ancient time when we were conquered by Spaniards. People’s outfits really looked old with the ladies’ saya and the men’s barong. He met a child, which surprisingly was Dr. Jose Rizal, our National hero. He was indeed young but he’s mind was so matured. They became friends. The more I watch Rizal’s childhood, the more I salute him. He was actually a good person. I was impressed by his braveness. I didn't expect that Rizal involved in a fight. He was lucky to have a good mother so when the guards caught her mother for a crime I knew she didn't do, I cried. Because like Rizal, it is also hard for me to lose my mother especially when you’re mother is like his. I also saw others crying and wiping away their tears. I smiled. They absolutely carried away by the story of Rizal. Pepito took Pepe (Rizal’s nickname) to his time because of Rizal’s eagerness to go on his world. He also saved Pepito when he was bullied by his classmates. He didn't understand why people don’t believe that his name was really Jose Rizal. So he showed that it’s real. He impressed the teacher and other students by his talent and brilliant mind. He also impressed me. Although it was hard because the students are hard headed, he managed to make them believe that he was truly Jose Rizal and was only traveled through time to go on their world and find friends. I was more impressed by Rizal when he found out that he was going to die early. Yes, he cried but after that he realized that he was going to die for his country, which he’s going to be a hero. A hero that is love by everyone. He really loves his country. In the end, they all became friends and joined-in to build a new statue with one aim, for them to not lose their precious school. They made a new statue. A statue that is even more beautiful than the previous one. And their Buwan Ng Wika celebration ends successfully.

I know, not everyone enjoyed the play. I saw others sleeping and just talking with their seatmates. But when you focus on the play, it’s not boring at all. It was funny and taught good morals. I think, day eighteen of the month January of the year twenty-thirteen is a memorable day that taught me this lesson: Love your own.

Shoo! Admirers, Shoo!

Do you have billions of admirers but you don't like anyone from them? Do they pest you? Having admirers is, I think, a blessing but not always. Sometimes, they are so annoying and irritating. Well, worry no more! I'll assure you that there are only four ways on how to get rid of your annoying and clingy admirers.

Way number one, don't talk to any of them. When he wants to talk to you, just ignore him. Pretend that you're deaf. If the topic is important then entertain him, but if not just leave him alone. Be a one word woman in answering him. Answering him with a long sentence will just take time and he'll have a chance to ask you nonsense questions. When he tells a joke, don't laugh at him. Show him that he has no sense of humor. Show him that he is boring to talk to.

Way number two, don't be nice to them. When you are being nice to him, he will just think that he has a chance on you. At the end, he will just think that you are what they called "pafall". Make sure that he will stay away from you not to stick to you more. Don't allow him to touch you, or cling on your arms. Don't be sweet to them. Remember, you should act like a monster in front of him so that he will no longer like you. You don't have to insult or hit him. You'll just make him leave and not to kill him.

Way number three, when he is giving you a present, play hard to get in accepting it. Act like you're shy. I know it is hard for you to reject gifts. Anyway, it's a gift and gifts are meant to be accepted. And many admirers are so persevering in giving gifts. If you don't accept his gifts he'll just follow you all over. Don't you think it's irritating when someone is following you? If you are cold-hearted one and you don't mind other's feelings, then you can reject their gifts. Anyway, some guys think accepting gifts is taking advantage on them.

Way number four, let him know the guy you like. I know, this way is cruel, rude or mean. It will hurt his feelings. Our goal is make them go away, so whatever we do, we'll just going to hurt them. Hurting them is much better than being nice to them but at the end you'll just leave them. Tell him that it's better to find another girl because you already like someone. If you don't have any guy you like, you just point any guy you see. Point a perfect one.

These ways given, are only suitable for cold-hearted, rude and mean people. It is your own choice if you'll do these or not. If you do these and regret at the end, don't blame me. You chose to do these, so you're the one to blame. After all, having admirers is a blessing but sometimes a misfortune.

"Wonderful World of Words" (Descriptive)

Intermediate pad, knee pad and many more pads. But for me, the best pad is Wattpad. Wattpad is an online reading site. There are thousands of stories you can read there in different languages and different genres you like.

Small, orange-colored letter "w", that is how you'll recognize this site. And when I see it, I get excited because again, I'll enter the beautiful world of literature. There are different genres of stories that you and I can read in this site. Thriller, sci-fic, fantasy, non-teen fiction, romance and my favorite, humor. I love wattpad and I consider this as my other world. Why? First, because in this site, I can fall in love, laugh hard, cry and get hurt. I can experience different emotions. I can become a protagonist and soon I'll find my prince charming and we'll start our love story. I can be whoever I want to be! An actress, a singer, a dancer, a princess, a model, a fairy or just a simple girl living a simple life. I can meet different characters. Different characters that help and betray me in the story. Despite the circumstances, I'll still have my happy ending. But it is not always happy, sometimes stories that I've read talks about death and regrets in life. Since I feel like I'm one of the characters, I can't help myself but to cry. It really affects me.

Second, in this site, I can meet new people. Oh! True people not characters in a story. The feeling when you had a small talk with your idol authors and someone votes and writes a comment on your story/ies, it feels like I am on cloud nine. It inspires me to write more. Writing for me is like wishing. Wishing that this story that I wrote will happen to me. In wattpad, I can be an author. An author the writes about her dreams, adventures and experiences in life. An author that inspires and give lessons to her readers. I've dreamed becoming an author before. But sadly, I gave up because I thought I'll not become a great author. Thanks to wattpad, because of this site, it feels like one of my dreams came true.

Stories here, they are not written by professional and famous authors. They are just written by simple persons with wide imaginations like me. But it's still a part of our literature. All you have to do is appreciate the stories. Because the stories here are made out of love and passion. And in this site, they accept not reject. In this site, I experienced different things and went to different places. Having said all of these and I know it made no sense at all for you, I am saying this: Wattpad is the best site, for me.
